Today I was out enjoying the 65 degree weather and decided to play with my TN. As I was driving back the 10 miles from my farm to the shop, I got a little warm and turned on the ac. then I got to thinking, how much power was the ac using. So as I was pretty bored, I did a few fairly unscientific experiments. TN75D, 75 hp turbo, full throttle, 2600 rpm, 32.2 km/hour with ac off, flipped ac on max, no change in speed or rpm. Now going up a long hill so engine was lugging down and speed had dropped to about 31.1, again no change in rpm or speed with ac on full or not. Only thing noticable was that I almost froze to death. Must be the turbo's 38% torque rise /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Actually I don't know what it shows, except that even when the TN is really pulling up a hill, the ac's impact is not even noticable. Scientific.. nah /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Can't help you with your experiment.

I was just wondering if it is worth getting a cab for the TN? I haven't received my TN yet, but I am assuming it is something that I can have put on after the fact?? Is it worth the money?

The factory cabs are either installed when the tractor is built or not at all. It is not like the old cabs that just mounted over the fenders. These new cabs are fully integrated into the tractor. There are aftermarket companies though that sell cabs that can mount onto a non cab TN.

Have you been in a TN cab? If not do yourself the favor and try one out. It is nothing like an aftermarket cab. It is pressurized so that dust does not enter and the air you breath is filtered. All glass (and there is a lot of it) is tinted. A pull down sun shade protects your eyes. The heating and ac are great and fully integrated. Front and rear washer/wipers. Radio/ antenna & speakers installed. Many controls in easier to get to places than open station tractor. I've had 5 open station machines and I bought this as my "last toy" so I threw in all the bells and whistles. I haven't regretted getting ther cab one bit. You get many things on the cab model that the open station models don't have standard. Toggle switch control of 4WD, differential lock, electrohydro control of PTO and a lighting package that is superb. Not the least of which are the nice arm rests /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif oh yea, no bugs get in either.../forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
