Listed below are the max speeds for each gear/range selection for the TN 65,70,75 with 16.9x30 R1's Hope this helps, Andy

TN 65,70,75 with 16x16 trans 16.9x30 R1

Range A 0.4,0.6,0.9,1.2 mph
Range BL 1.6,2.4,3.6,5.3
Range BH 2.0,3.0,4.3,10.4
Range C 5.8,8.6,12.6,18.7

TN 65,70,75 with 8x8 trans 16.9x30 R1
Range A 1.5,2.2,3.1,4.6 mph
Range B 5.6,8.6,12.6,18.7

I think it's been answered, but to shift ranges you must stop. To shift "gears" push clutch, syncro just like a car or truck.

So these speeds would be different than if the tractor was running at PTO RPM. Do you know how different?

The engine speed for PTO speed of 540 rpm is 1957 rpm.
The max speeds show in my previous post were listed at "maxium power". Max power is 2300 rpm. PTO speed at 2300 engine rpm is listed as 634 rpm. So to determine the ground speed at PTO engine sped for each gear range you would need to multiple the speeds shown in my previous post by the ratio of 1957/2300 or .85 . One of the reasons the TN series has such long engine life is its low operating rpm's.

Hi jimg...I read your post regarding the TN65 with 200 hours on it? Was it for sale by Chappell Bros. in Brentwood, NH? If so, I bought it two weeks ago and had it shipped to Pennsylvania for my crop operation.

I had a canopy placed on it along with a LandPride 2572 rotary mower.

Loved the tractor right from the beginning...and I said I'd never own a Ford-related product. And one more thing...I just bought a Ford F350 diesel dually. Never say never!!!

Chuck

Congratulations on your new TN. The TN's certainly seem to be making some headway on this board. I definately feel they are the best tractors in their class and I tried them all. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
BTW I never thought I'd buy a "Fix It Again Tony" related product either. I think pretty much everybody knows Ford makes the best trucks.

Well done there, AndyMa. But...I believe Fiat owns Ferrari. So does that mean we New Holland owners own a Ferrari by proxy??

BTW...Chappell Bros. treated me very well in Brentwood, NH., they arranged for shipment of the tractor/rotary mower to Pennsylvania and agreed to throw in a metal canopy.

It's a really nice machine; the previous owner was meticulous about care and maintence, much like I am. There was hardly a scratch on the bucket!!
