Hey guys,

The 3-Pt hitch is not lowering properly on my TN70A. It will raise fine but will only lower about 6". It doesn't seem to matter what level the position control levers are set to and this just happened without me adjusting them at all. It seems like it has to have something to do with the Lift-O-Matic button. If the button is released the 3-Pt will raise fully with no problem. If the button is pressed it lowers 6" and comes to a stop.

Has anyone here had this type of issue? I just recently purchased this tractor and I am a new owner without much mechanical experience on tractors.

Please help!

Thank you!

You really need to get an owners manual for your tractor to understand how it is supposed to work. Check ebay.

Are your hitch control levers all the way down when you press the Lift-o-matic button to lower the the hitch?

Thanks...yes, i've tried it with both levers all the way down as well as with the draft control lever at 1/2.

I have a TD95D and it has a switch for the lift o matic on the right side of the fender panel in the cab. I'm doing this from memory because the owners manual is in the cab but IF my memory serves me correctly, when the switch was in the latched position my lift control did not work. It had to be unlatched for the lift levers to respond. I believe there is a solenoid valve that controls this but the tractor is new so I'm not that sure. I'll try to get out and look at it this evening and if i find out somethinng I'll post back.

Thanks for the response Jerry/MT. I have a mechanic coming out to the house today to see if we can figure it out. Hopefully he can diagnose the cause and I'll post results.

Boones, I have a tn65 open station, and I believe it has the same as lift o matic as yours. There is a paragraph in the manual for setting the stops on this lift. Basically release a leaver, and move a cog to stop the lift at the set place. I KNOW that the cable for this is pretty sensitive to set, and will affect the 3pt raising and lowering severely. Please post back with what you found, and how the mechanic repaired your unit. I caught a stick with mine and had to replace the cable. Took me a while to get everything working correctly again, but think I am ok now.
