Well, here is the problem...plowed with the tractor all day (8 hours straight). Drove home and shut it off to do some work around the barn yard. Went to start it - turns over and over, but no start. Fuel guage said it was 1/4 full, and I looked - I could still see fuel. Put another 2 gallon in and tried it with ether once - engine started, but as soon as the ether was used up, it stalled. Any thoughts? It ran fine all day and was not coughing or hesitating when I shut it off.

Check your fuel filter to make sure it isn't clogged up or full of water.

This may seem like a stupid question, but...

Are you sure it's in neutral? My 35 will not start, but will turn over, when it's in gear. If that's not it, and the fuel filter is not it either, you may wish to pull the neutral position switch and check it to make sure it's functioning properly.

Loosen / remove the fuel line at the tank tap.. if it just drips / dribbles.. then the finger sized filter up inthe tank is probably plugged up.

If you do get flow there.. go to each point along the fuel path and check for flow.. that means each pump / charge pump.. fuel bowl, water trap.. etc.. check each.

The check for fuel to injector pump... make sure yuo can losoen the line and get fuel running out at the pump.

On that model I don't think you have to bleed individual injectors... though not sure how similar it is to my 7610s. On mine you turn key on to get electric fuel pump, and then open a bunch of bleed points till fuel bubbles out.. then after a few seconds of cranking she's good.. even from an out of fuel situation... hope yours is as easy.

Also.. put away the ether.. tractors get addicted to it...

Almost exactly the same senario happened to my TN75D, Used it all day, parked it and wouldn't start in morning. Cranked great. Checked fuel, line, filters and selonoid shut off. Turned out to be injector pump. Was rebuild and now all is fine. At that time replacement pumps were unavailable as apparently there was a rash of failed pumps.

That brings up an idea.. Assuming yours has a fuel shutoff solenoid in the pump.. check the wires running to it..

Have you figured out what is wrong with you TN75 yet?

If you where plowing in tall grasses or weeds I would check the wires going to your safety switches. We have had some pull off and the same thing happen to the tractor it would crank but not start until the wires where fixed or reconnected to the safety switch.
