Once you know where to get your hydraulic flow from, and where to return it, it is pretty easy. I say that because I'm not familiar with your Kubota specifically.
The rear remotes are not necessarily mandatory to run the top link and side link. In other words, you could plumb them directly into the 2 spool valve (to run 2 double acting cylinders) without using rear remotes. However, there will be times when you want your valve to run other hydraulics so having the ability to quick connect or dis-connect will be a feature you definitely want. You should look at getting a 2 spool open center valve with or without a float feature that handles (matches) the hydraulic flow of your tractor. It can have a joystick or separate handles depending what you want.
Rear remotes are nothing more than quick couplers attached to a bulk head so you can plug other hydraulic devices into them. They are controlled and connected to your (new) 2 spool valve (for 2 SETS of rear remotes). You would have 2 sets, 1 in and 1 out each. You connect one set to your top link cylinder and the other set to your side link cylinder. When not using the top link or side link, you could plug something else into them.
That is also why I believe a double pilot operated check valve on the side or top link is a valuable asset. They are like what CCM has on their cylinders. One advantage of the dpocv is when you set your side link and then disconnect the hydraulic line from the rear remote, the side link should stay in that position until you re-connect it and move it. The disadvantage is you could not use a "float" position on a valve for a dpocv since it locks the cylinder in position.
You can get all your hydraulic stuff at
Surplus Center or Discount Hydraulic Hose to make your own set up. But it would be worth a phone call to CCM to compare their pricing if you are interested in their dpocv cylinders. They also have the control valve with joystick, hoses and QC to operate the system. You would be installing their system yourself, just like if you were to choose your own system components. So it's worth the price comparison anyway.
On a side note, if you wanted a float for the top link and a dpocv for the side link, then buy their side link with dpocv and provide your own valve (with float feature) and top link cylinder.
Here is a link to CCM (previously posted) to their top and tilt system.
