Hi,

First post - this is a great forum and resource - thanks all!

Just had the TNT installed on my L4330. It came with the top link and right side tilt link cylinders. When fully extended, the right tilt link is even with the left side link (worm gear adjustable). So as installed I can only make the right link shorter than the left link. I cannot extend the hydraulic link to make it longer than the left link, therefore I can only tilt one way - right side up left side down.

Is this normal? One solution is to get another cylinder on the left side. Otherwise I could raise the left arm 1/2 way but don't I lose some range?

How many cylinders do you have on your TNT and if only 2 then how is it configured?

Thanks in advance,
Chuck

The correct solution is to use a shorter side cylinder so that in its 'level' position the cylinder rod is extended approximately 50% of the length of travel. That way you can retract or extend it.

Let me see if I follow you correctly.
Rh side has hyd tilt. Fully extended
Lh side has manual adjusted worm

Is worm in center or is it extended all the way?
If all the way extended center it up Problem solved.

If it is centered already you need either a longer hyd cyl or an extension about half the stroke length.

Or better yet just give it to me and Ill throw it away for you /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I would love a TNT but dont want to but the remotes for my Ford.

When I use my tilt cylinder, I use my adjustable lift link on the other side. I move the extend the tilt cylinder until its half way and then adjust the lift link to level. Then, I am able to tilt above and below level. It does take up a little of the overall travel, but nothing that seems to matter.

You have to set it up as Bob Skurka said. When the lift arms are level the tilt cylinder should be at 50% of its stroke.

There are also geometry issues you will have to deal with. If the ends of the tilt cylinder are not angled exactly the same as the link you took off then you might get more tilt in one direction than the other. I posted a thread on this situation about 3 years ago with pictures of my box scraper tilted. If search is working you should be able to find it.

Once you get the two side links nominally equal, there is one other problem you may have with your L4330. It may just be me and the Woods implements I own but the 3ph contol lever is too low to reach while I am twisted around watching the implement. An option that can help that problem is the second hole in the crankable link where it attaches to the lower arm.

Thanks everyone.

Nobody suggested putting another cylinder on the other link. Seems like that would give you the most range but highest price as well.

JMC, you are right that the lever is quite low but it hasn't stopped me yet - although raising the crankable link is a good idea.

Note that this is the way it came from my Kubota dealer and when I called them to ask them this question they didn't have a good answer for me and are still researching it. What gives with that? Apparently they don't put many of these in.

Take the adjustable link removed from the right side, install it on the left and adjust it the way you want it.

Most dealers are not up to speed on these type of options since they rarely sell or see them. They will either BS you or discourage you from purchasing that option.

Just make sure that both the tilt cylinder and the other link if it's adjustable, are at the 50% position when the lift arms are level. Assuming the tilt cylinder angles are correct, this setup wil give you your best tilt.

What has been suggested is good advice,...set the stationary left side to "medium" and use the hydraulic side to tilt. If ever you need a "radical" maximum tilt, adjsut the left side up all the way and let the right side down all the way, or visa versa.

Some guys have 2 cylinders for the tilt as this allows them to do what I just said about maximum tilt without have to "screw" (excuse the pun) with the stationary one.
