I found a 1985 New Holland 1710 with 2000 hours on it and they are asking 4000.00 for it it comes with a loader, I am not sure but thehours seem a bit high for that price any opinions are welcome.

2000 hours, if well maintained is about half way thru it's life before needng a few things replaced like IP or clutch. Heck.. I don't feel a tractor is broke in good till at least 750-1000 hours anyway. That said.. a bad operator can ruin one in 1 hour .. gotta look at condition not just tachometer..

You must be looking at the one on Craigslist in Monticello, IA. And I agree with Soundguy. The hours aren't the problem. It may be a bargain or it may not, depending on its condition.

Yes Bird that was the one. I really want to go look at it but scheduling a time has not been good (My fault not his) I am going to try again and hope he has not sold it.

After talking to a few of the dealers here it sounds like it might be a good buy it has an aftermarket cab and heater but there seems to be a discrepency the listing says it is 4 wd and the dealer says that model does not come with 4wd there is an aftermarket front wheel assist so I need to ge that cleared up but I am extrememly intirested. I am going to try and call him again tonight

I;ve seen 1986 years in 2 or 4WD. Perhaps its a late model 85 at beginning of 86 year where 4wd was offered.
