To \"NY Trainer\" Ref. \"Post Hole digger for BX\"

I'm sorry for putting this in the post format but, If the person named "NY Trainer" could please contact me via E-Mail or phone I would like to talk to you about the post you made on the digger for your BX. I'm going to have to buy a new one since my Befco wont work with the BX. I need to get more info on your unit and how you like it after owning it for awhile. E-Mail me and I'll give you a number to call collect or I;ll call you it wont cost me anything. Thanks in advance Bigguy Mark

Re: To \"NY Trainer\" Ref. \"Post Hole digger for BX\"

I'm aware of the offerings from Landpride and the new model from Befco. I was told that the Befco could be as little as $650, less then what you said for the Landpride unit. What I'm trying to find out is wether anyone else besides NY Trainer is using the Green Manufacturing unit on a BX series. I'm sure that a price of $375 is better then paying $650 or more for a " special unit just for the BX" All this special equipment has started a new sales flood for these new Small tractors like the BX and 2210JD or 2300 Ferguson. What I'm looking for is the versatility to use the same equipment on my BX and other tractors I may have in the future. "I'm not into special things " just for alot more money is what I say. These tractors were billed as Cat 1 compatable from the get go and they aren't in some cases. Wish I had known before I bought mine that I would have to sell my Cat 1 equipment and buy special things. Oh well live and learn but I will save my money and buy from Northern if their unit( Green Manufacturing) works without a problem. I guess the B7500 or the B7800 would have been a better choice if I didn't want to sell what I already have equipment wise. Bigguy

Re: To \"NY Trainer\" Ref. \"Post Hole digger for BX\"

I have the Woods 1120 PHD for my BX and it works great. It's sized right for these smaller machines, although 30" is the depth limitation. My only complain is the horrible paint job...which I'll deal with one of these days. (I have some nice lavender /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Rustoleum left over from some outdoor furniture...hee hee)

Big Guy,
It was nice speaking on the phone with you. We have had so much rain I didn't get a chance until today to put the PHD (Digger) back on the BX. I made a "stand" for the digger too. I will post that in the "Attachments" forum.
Anyway, attached is a picture showing the ground clearance. The auger is about 42". The picture may make it difficult to judge the clearance. I passed a regulation sized basketball underneath the auger tip (slightly scuffing the ball) in this raised position. How this helps with your decision.
David

Re: \"Post Hole digger for BX\"

A little over a year ago there was a great post - including a picture - showing a Farm Star model 500 PHD with a 42" auger mounted on a BX, with 14" of ground clearance.

Try clicking on this link, or cutting and pasting this link into your browser address box:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=owning&Number=122783&page=&view=&sb=5&o=&fpart=all&vc=1

If that doesn't work, click on "Search", above, select Kubota Owning/Operating, and type in "New Post Hole Digger on BX". Select "all posts" since you will have to go back to 3/24/02.

When the list of posts appears, go the bottom and start with the first one on 3/24/02.

Thanks Dave for the picture, yes it does help with the decission as to which unit to buy. I plan to call Northern this week to order a new unit. I have two fences to do in my neighborhood so I'm going to need it. Mark
