This area is very gun shy about the coming Ice Storm. After the disaster in 2009 when nobody took the warning serious and nearly all spent at least a week out of power people are getting ready in a frantic way.

Cousin is manager at a local Wal-Mart. Said she spent four hours Wednesday night doing nothing but stock toilet paper. Said she had one guy wheeling pallets of TP from the back and dropping it in the aisle. She started stocking the shelves and by the time he could get back with another pallet the shelves were bare. LOL, guess what most people ran out of during the 2009 ice storm/power outage.

Also her store ran out of milk and bread. Actually there wasn't a store in western Kentucky that had any by noon Thursday.

Myself I spent all day yesterday getting our place ready. Then working on my mother's place and several of the older relatives places too.

Hope all my TBN friends in the Midwest are snug and warm in their homes. And hope they are prepared in advance.

Good luck, RSKY - we in upper midwest rarely get ice storms. People laugh when we say we'd rather have snow & cold (which we do - 7 inches & -10F this week), but it's true. The ice storms we had were terrible.

Get a generator too so you can stay warm.

Wish I owned stock in a TP company:laughing: That is something people will buy over gasoline and equal to food:thumbsup:
Storm is clearing out here, but it had some ice with it, 1'2 of ice and around 1-2" of sleet. When it freezes tonight it will be bad. We are supposed to be below freezing until maybe Sunday..so

DFW airport has canceled around 300 flights
260 accidents responded to in FT Worth so far.

Toilet paper is something to remain stocked up on, no matter the season. I buy it in bulk, at Costco, along with paper towels. It is not something that will never be used, and avoids the mad rush that y'all are experiencing. Why run low on TP? I sort of think of it as a necessity, any more.

And we add facial tissue to that list. I've said that we're Puffs' best customer and certainly among the best for Angel Soft and Viva.

I like to keep about 6 months worth of toilet paper stashed away.
My wife thinks I'm crazy; but I love to smirk at her whenever she runs out and asks me to bring her a new roll.
"See hun? I told you it was smart to keep a good stock of this stuff just in case."

Spent a lot of my life on the road and always carried my own personal roll. Tell you one thing for absolute sure, the size of them sheets has shrunk a **** of a lot faster than my hairline. Got to the point now that there's almost inch and a half of empty space on the spool holds the paper on the wall, and that roll filled that space 10 years back.

Was one thing when that ice cream bucket shrunk from half a gallon to a quart and a half, but I gotta say I don't think the need for decent paper at the other end of the system shrunk one dang bit. I look at some people around town and seems like they need biger sheets rather than smaller.

Oh come on; toilet paper? Make a trip to the local swamp and load up on moss. You will ner use TP again.

Until you pick that moss growing around the poison ivy plant.
