Tomorrow (assuming the weather holds and no rain) I am going to pick up my 300ft of 3/4" pipe and run a water line to the wifes garden. So far the 1850 has had few issues with pulling tests but tomorrow will be the big day.

pictures to follow.

I'll get some pix up today but it worked, just not as great as I would like. Upside is that it works. Downside is that I elected to cut a progressively deeper channel before the pull to make sure there were no surprises. Due to the fact that the pt is no repeatable in reverse I ended up cutting a much wider channel than planned. So the sod got loose and would jam up under the blade. Also even though I was capable of getting down to 24" I never got below 15. So a lot more damage than I would like if I had just pulled once. Also I had a major boo boo. I pulled my 180 ft and cut the lines . Got excited and drove back over the trench to push the sod down. I caught the pipe in the front of the pt and pulled half of it back out of the ground. Had to re pull from the halfway point.

So at the end of the day for a 150 dollar tool. I cannot complain. I would not use this method with the pt for stuff that requires great depth or precision.

As i mentioned before, that's why I push my trenches with the PT. I can repeat over the original progressively deeper if needed.

I guess I should have tried to do a push. I never really thought of it as I have had so much problems with trying to push any other ground engaging implement.
