Too Old My Friends.... My Back Vs Landscaping

My wife is beautiful and here blue eyes will drive me to complete most anything she has asked. Recently she has asked me to redo the landscaping around our home. Sounded like a great excuse for some tractor time, but that has rutted up the side yard bad and the time spend correcting the tractor ruts has been more work than the landscaping.

So I started doing it by hand. She is now rubbing my back every night but it is going slow and my back cannot take it. I started to look for a better way and also something small to fit into the back yard. I found what is called a trackbarrow..... It looks neat :licking: but are they worth it. This video seems to show it will work..... What you your two cents? :2cents:

As long as you can fill it with your tractor, otherwise the hand shovel work is still going to result in a sore back:2cents:

I strutted up my yard with a landscaping project this spring, a couple of passes with the PTO driven tiller and a bit of grass seed took care of that problem.

Here's my donation: the tracks are going to tear up the yard also, anytime you turn it's a skid steer technique. If it were a wheel unit with steerable wheels, it would be less destruction of the turf than a track unit.

I've seen wheeled units from DR like their Power Wagon that might be a better choice.

So then the contractor gets the back rubs? That's no good! ;-)

Check out what a set of mounted turffs would cost.

I dug and transported 10 "pond scoop" loads from the dry vernal pool out back to cover some gravel base that I would like to see green up with grass.

The trips across the lawn have bent over the grass , but tomorrow's rain will have that all repaired.

OH, I thought you were seriously old and really were considering a $2,000 wheelbarrow, and you still have to fill it up and empty it and spread it. This could be mistaken to some as a form of dementia. Just the fact that you are jealous of back rubs means that you are still young and are simply looking for wife sympathy. In other words - GET OUT THERE AND GET-ER-DONE! Show her what a man you are and use a regular wheelbarrow and park the tractor. :laughing:

They do a good job of showing no grass damage but I would have some doubts given those tracks. I've used a DR power wagon and it is great. One thing I notice in the video and with my DR field and brush mower, the handles are set too low. Maybe they figure the average person using it is 5'8" but I always feel like I could use a little more lift in the handles.

I did a landscaping project this spring that left some ruts and compacted areas in the lawn. A pass or two with the 60" tiller, a minimal amount of hand rake work and a bit of grass seed took care of it.
