Hey all. I know (by doing a search) that this has been beaten to death, but I'm not finding the info/ideas I need.

First, I want to thank all of you for the assistance with my decision to buy a used '86, 336D. I have already gotten much use out of this great machine!

ISSUE: I purchased a new 19" (nice shiney red) toolbox from AgriSupply. Has all the nice mounting brackets and all, but on my 336 with just a FEL and NO ROPS (yet), I'm having a **** of a time finind a place to mount the box. Good news is that the mounts have thumb screws for easy removal of the box when/if needed.

Two options I have considered. On the LEFT fender/axle mounts, there are a few heavy duty bolts that hold everything in place. I could mount my brackets there and the seat would clear, the rear lift arm would JUST clear, BUT - the PTO lever will only go into LOW (Down), not High(Up).
Second option I cam up with is the tapped holes on the back of the seat for the SLV emblem. aside from putting it there, either a front bumper mod or top of the hood install is the only other thing I can think of.

Any other ideas out there my fellow 'experts'! :)

I have a 336d. I do not have it here to look at but I mounted mine on the left top of the fender. I have ROPS and as I recall I u-bolted or strapped it around the ROPS and had some rubber bumper feet on the bottom of the toolbox. I think I used bicycle caliper brakes as the rubber feet attached thru the bottom of the tool box. If water got in it also let it out.
If you mow around brush it is kind of exposured however.

Thanks for the input... I did consider putting the toolbox there, but two things kept me from going that route.

A) Would block the rear amber signal from the front and
B) I have the stock "hand rails" on the fenders that would interfere somewhat. Looking like the back side of the seat or top of the hood mount may be my best options. Just like to get input before I start drilling holes on my aged tractor

You jogged my old memory banks. I believe the hand hold is where I attached the straps to those and the tool box. I used the tool box more than the hand holds.
