2009 Toolcat 5610
Hi Folks, I've got a 2009 Toolcat 5610 and I'm having trouble with all of the exterior lights not coming on when I press the lights button on the center control panel. I've checked fuses, relays and all the wiring that I can see and I haven't found anything. There are rare times when after pressing the dam button 50 times they come on and I can toggle the headlights, work lights and rear lights normally with the dash switch and it seems like nothing was ever wrong, until I shut them off again. Has anyone seen this before with the buttons on the control panel failing or a connection coming loose on the back of the panel? TIA

A simple test for the light button is to start the engine, press and hold the light button"none" should appear in the display.

Thanks for that tip, I'll try it when I get home and let you know. If I understand that right, holding that button down will give you any codes that are stored in the computer, hence getting the "None" shows that at least the button works and isn't the problem.

I was really hoping it wasnt the button, but nope it doesnt bring up the NONE or turn the lights on. I Held the button several times between 3-10 seconds each try. I guess the next question is if these button are replaceable? Surely you wouldnt have to replace the whole console. 🙏

buttons are part of the display controller. About a $1000 to replace

That's bad news. I guess I will install a few spot lights to get me by until I can get a new control console. I've done some searching on removing the control console, but the only info out there is to reach behind and bend over a few clips to get it out. Are there any other tips/tricks to get it out?

I have my entire dash off, seems its just clips in the back, if you pry up on it, should pop out.

If you remove a blank extra cover to the right of the control panel, you can get a mirror and flash light in there to see the retainer clips behind the control panel that holds it in. Once you pull it out you can unplug the wiring harness, remove all the small screws from the back of the control panel cover. The inside of it looks like a compartment storage bin you use to store small parts in, each on of those compartments has a individual switch or led in it to run that function. There not made to be replaced but if your handy with a soldering iron and a little creative its possible to repair it. Really have nothing to loose, the control panel is $1,100 at my local dealer. Good luck!
