Toolcat(s) 5600B-Turbo(s)
I have just picked up a third Toolcat (turbo) and a used Erskine 73 inch blower from a different source(I believe model is 2118). I have been successful in wiring the blower and Bobcat controller and the unit functions without any additional wiring to the 7 pin connection or additional controllers. My question is if anyone else is running an Erskine blower on a turbo Toolcat, and if so can you tell me the model number of the main blower motor you are running. I have spare motors for the two Bobcat SB200痴, plus two different motors that came with the Erskine, but I知 hoping to get some feedback before the expected 3 feet of snow we are slated to receive in the next 36 hours.

Thanks!

Now would be a good time to take the blower to auction. It will plug up. It is too bulky to be used as a BLADE. Go find yourself a 72" light materials bucket.
I bet the blower is hardly used, that is because they don't work.

Bob,

Thank you for the response. While there is no such thing as the 'perfect' piece of equipment, I will tell you that we have been running blowers since 2004 and have been very pleased with their performace. The most important thing (hence my question) is to have the machine and blower properly 'matched' for hydraulic pressure and GPM. Prior to purchasing the first blower I ran an 88 inch snow bucket on the first Toolcat. After getting the first blower, we found that the blower finishes a route approximately 1 hour sooner than a bucket. Yes they will plug if you are 'new' to using them, and/or 'pushing' too hard. New operators quickly get the 'feel' and an 'ear' for how hard to push.

Tim,
I've found Erskine/Q-A very, very helpful in answering questions about hydraulic compatibility. The Eaton/CharLynn motors should have blue/silver tags on the rear. If you tell the sales rep the model, he should be able to tell you the displacement & optimal GPM. If you luck out, you might find the model #'s in the online Eaton catalog; however, I was unable to do this. Found out later that they are OEM motors only (or something like that) and are not in the catalog. That's when I called Q-A. Talked to a guy named Trevor who was on the ball with the info.

SixHoeBob, Have you ever run a blower on a hi-flow skid or a Toolcat? If not, you owe it to yourself to try. I've had my blower for 4 years and it works very well. Works best in drier snow...but we hardly ever get that, unfortunately. Most of our snow is kinda nasty (wet).

I have three skid-loaders that all came with new Erskine blowers matched by the dealers for the loaders hydraulic system. The loaders were bought new specifically to run the blowers. I am second owner on all the loaders, but I know the original owners of each machine and the detailed history.
1845C Hi-flow, Lx885Hi-flow, L555 std-flow. 2418 hi-flow blowers for the large loaders, 1812 blower for the 555.
With the utmost desire I tried to get the blowers to work. Soon as the operator exceeds the pace of a frozen snail the blowers plug up. Meanwhile one of my helpers cleared the parking lot with the 1 cu. yd. snow bucket. Don't forget that with the blower the loader must be running wide open. Between the noise and the cab, I doubt there will be much "hearing" what the blower is doing. Rarely,
do I ever run any of the loaders more than 3/4 throttle for any reason. I took all three blowers to different auctions and recouped most of my money. They sell best just before a snow storm.
