Toothbar for bolt-on cutting edge: FINISHED!

I just looked at this site as advertised here on TBN. Have any of you had any experience or feedback from anyone on this toothbar. It is listed at $245 for a 6 foot bucket. The teeth arent replaceable on this one unless you grind it off and weld on new ones.

Hey Rich,
Great work on that toothbar for the bolt on cutting edge.
There were a bunch of guys looking for one at one time. Now they have no excuse to build one.
Your's looks superb!

You just did all the hard work for me.I also have a B26 w/the same
bucket/cutting edge set-up.By "all the hard work" i mean doing the research
and giving me the part #'s.
Although i dont have time to build the toothbar right now,i think i'll
order the parts and save them for when i get time.
Did you say you ordered them thru the canadian outfit but they where shipped from the states? Also,i found everything on their site but the pins.
Are they listed somewhere else???

a suggestion.

it may not be a bad idea to weld 1/4" thick wear strips on top of the teeth on the soft metal that forms the cup, as the wear strips wear down they can be cut off and new ones welded in place

better yet make them from the hard steel all the way up the upper side to take the wear

I also made a bar for my Mitsubishi MT180D (4ft bucket) using Fabco parts and have been using it for third year.
I echo the comments re catalogue, but details are excellent.

One suggestion would be to use loose tolerances as since my bucket had worked hard I needed to use a 10 lb sledge to get my bar into place due to some 'work induced' curves in origional cutting edge.
I welded my tooth holders onto a 1/2" plate (3/8" would have been best) .
To hold the bar in place I used 3/8 bolts on the ears thinking that I'd replace with 1/2" later when things loosened up, but never needed to do so.

And believe you me, I work my 'toothed' bucket hard as I often dig into hardpan that has all kinds of inbedded rocks of various sizes.
This spring I extracted a rock that merely protruded in my drive in an annoying fashon that was too large to lift or load in the bucket so I had to roll it by curling the bucket and flipping it on and on 'til it was out of the way.

With my tooth bar installed I have been able to accomplish much that otherwise would have required a backhoe or excavator.

digger, yes I ordered the Fabco stuff through Terra Cut. The pins are a new part number not on their website yet. I confirmed this talking directly to Fabco. Call Cory at Terra Cut, 800-561-5414, tell him Rich sent ya! Nice guy. The parts ship from Fabco in Ohio.
