I was looking for a toothbar for my 73'' hd john deere bucket
on my 460 loader, where and how much do they run?

I want to order a toothbar but I have a question as to the measurements. On my bucket(Kubota) what is the measurements that are required? How close are the toothbars made as far as clearance? There is a pie shape in the front lower cornors that can vary from 59 1/4 (inside) to 58 1/2 (outside) depending as to where the measurement is taken. Which one do they require?

The interior measurement is important in that it allows the bolts to hold the bar from coming off particularly when going in reverse. The actual mechanism for holding the bar onto the bucket while digging is the front lip of the bucket. The tooth bar will slide over this lip at each tooth and hold it tightly in place, sort of like a slip-on or wedge. The width will be slightly less then the inside width of the bucket so it can be put on or taken off without to much effort. It will extend into the bucket where it bolts on about 5" or so. Measure the narrowest point back to there and get that. Its not critical to get it any closer then about 1/8", Rat...

On my bucket at the lower cornors(sides) there is a wedge(indent) that is about 1 1/2" high by 5" long. I take it that I do not measure into this wedge. I measure outside of this area which will give me a smaller measurement.

measure the interior width of your bucket, about 4 or 5 in. in from the cutting edge.this should be what u need for a proper fit.

Sam,

I got mine from K.C. Canary-Fultonville. I had it at my house within three weeks.

Make sure your measurements are good. Just like working with wood, measure twice.

I somehow screwed up my measurements and the toothbar was about 3/4 inches shorter than I needed. So I had to have shims made up to make up the difference. Not a big deal, but an inconvenience.
