I have a 53" bucket on my 2210. Was wondering how many teeth to order on my toothbar? The lady from Markham said she thought 5 was standard on a 53" bucket, but I could purchase extras. What is everyones opinion on how many teeth? Thanks for the input.

When I bought my Markham I was never asked that question. Here's what I got and to me it works very well:

The less teeth, the more pressure each individual tooth puts into digging.

My toothbar, on a 61" bucket has 7 teeth. JDFANATIC's pictures show 6 on his bucket...which I think would be perfect for you 53" bucket.

I too have a 53" bucket for my 2210, I also wasnt asked by Markham how many teeth I wanted, but it looks like the one that JD fanatic has.

Good Luck on getting that tooth bar from Markham. They told me a three week wait, it's been five weeks and when I called they said it now might be in on May 10!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I just ordered one from Unitedsteelworks off of ebay and will cancel my Markham bar on Monday. I am tired of waiting, the ebay bar looks just as well made and the price was about the same as Markham.

I also have a toothbar on order with Markham and have been given a delivery date in late April/early-May. According to Melissa they've had a problem with shipments from suppliers. Apparently, there was a 'breakdown in heat-treatment'.

I'm trying to decide what's better, 5 teeth or 6! Does anyone know why they decided to reduce the std number to 5? Does anyone out there have 5 teeth with their 53" bucket? If so, how do you find it?

I just received my toothbar from Markham and I think that it is an unbelievable product. I know that doesn't answer your question about how many teeth you need. Mine has 5 teeth and it looks to me to be a plenty but I only have a 48" bucket. If it were me I think if I had a 53" bucket I would want 6 teeth. If you decide to go with the Markham toothbar then I am certain you will be 100% happy with it.
