Top Speed???

I have a Ranger 700 XP and it'll go ~45 mph and get there quite fast. I test drove a Gator xuv 825i a couple of days ago and it'll do ~45 mph also and do it quickly. My acreage is along about one mile of a secondary road so speed is important to me maybe 10% of the time.

By the way, should you really feel the need for speed, there's a "new sheriff in town." Here's a vid from the 1000cc 2011 Can-Am Commander. It goes 0-70 MPH in 13 seconds then hits the throttle-by-wire governor and tops out at 73 MPH, based on the speedo...

It's payload of 600lbs in the box or 1500lbs towing capacity is similar to the Rhino, Teryx and Prowler, though less than the Ranger -- and of course the more workhorse RUV, XUV, etc.

Rhino 660 with a Tri-fire CDI and modified sheave -- hits 50mph on the flats or downhill. Most of the time I ride in the 25ish range. Top Speed comes in handy on long straight runs.

My Ranger XP 800 EPS will go 55 mph (two faster than advertised). I have done this twice but not regularly. It feels like you are going 200. While it is nice to have a super fast UTV, the truth is that having a powerful machine that accelerates well is more important. The Gator 825i is an example of this. It goes 44 MPH, which is 11 less than my Ranger, but it compares favorably with the Ranger in acceleration. I suspect for the average user, there would be little discernible difference in performance day to day between those two machines.
