BX 2370
I've just installed a hard Curtis Cab on my BX2370. It's very nice, as expected. It also makes the tractor more topheavy, which I expected, but it can be tricky at times when I'm mowing. Do any of you install rear wheel spacers on your cab-equipped tractors to help with this situation? My dealer told me today that it's not usually done with BX's, but it is done with B's and L's. I really don't want the rear tread to be wider than my 50" front mount snowblower, but this thing is tippy. What say you folks?

If I remember correctly, on a BX you can only add about 1 inch of spacers before the rear tires will hit the mower deck anti scalp wheels.

If this is correct, the difference in stability may only be marginal.

Edit: This assumes you have an MMM...

I would think your best bet would be filling the rear tires if you haven't already.

I think this is good advice.

I have all four tires on my BX2200 foam filled, and with the MMM hanging so low it feels rock stable on side slopes I would NEVER take the larger tractor on. BUT I do not have a cab...that could make all the difference.

If you are looking to maximize stability, put the widest spacers you can on the tractor, AND fill the tires with the highest weight filler you can, which I believe is foam, because it is a 100 percent fill, where others fill at 70 or 80 percent.

Edit: I am in Japan now, so I am posting in the afternoon...regardless of what the post time date shows...:)

Every little bit adds up....

The tractor does indeed have a MMM, and the rear tires are loaded. I'm thinking I'm going to have to get used to it. Thanks for the responses.

Put 1.5” rear wheel extensions on my B26. Doesn’t take much to make a huge difference in stability.

Filled tires helped too. Make sure you run the correct tire pressure.

Thinking of skid plates to protect vitals and lower center of gravity.

Build brackets to hold steel plates. Add weights down low that are removable.
