Found and purchased this Toro 216D mower from our local gold course, they had not used it for the last four years. put in a battery and it fired right up, since it would not fit into my pick up truck drove it 14 kilometers along the abandoned railway line, then the last few kilometers through the Indian reservation to home base.
The seat is going onto the Satoh S650G, that is undergoing the Kubota engine transplant in another thread.
The little Perkins 3 cylinder engine didn't miss a beat and the hydrostatic drive performed as it should albeit a bit slow to travel that 14 kilometers. The trip took 2.5 hours.
The abandoned railway line is part of the Trans Canada Trail so there was plenty to take in on this journey, plenty of beaver dams and coyote scat.
Looking at the size of the engine it looks like it may fit into my Simplicity 9020 Powermax without to much modification, if not then my second choice is to install the engine into my small fishing boat and use hydraulic propulsion.
