Toro 522XI - Picking her up Today!

I just bought a nice 522XI with 160 hours, 52" recycler mower deck and real clean. It really is in showroom condition plus I know the history of it to boot. I will be the the third owner and plan on keeping it in top condition as I do with all my OPE stuff - Wife gets a little jealous sometimes.

I was just wondering what other owners of these tractors have to say about it. It's a tank (over 1,300 lbs. with the deck) and appears to be overbuilt as much of the older OPE stuff is or was. No plastic on this beast!

It's going to make waiting for Spring seem that much longer. At this point in my life I should know better than to buy this kind of stuff at this time of year. You know the story - got to jump on these deals when they happen.

I own a 2004 model 520xi with a 60" side discharge mower deck. I have around 450 hours on it. The only problem that I've had is a oil leak around a breather vent on top of the engine just below the carburetor. Other then that, it's been a good tractor. I have the 48" front blade and sleeve hitch. I use various ground engaging attachments with the sleeve hitch. Congratulations on the 522XI, you will love it. I use mine year round, no need to wait for summer, you just have to accumulate some more toys to go with it. No problems to report here. As you stated, they are heavy, and built to last. Power steering really makes operation easy, even with the blower or plow on the front. I also have the two bag vacuum bagger attachment for the deck, and no longer have to rake leaves, really a back saver. As Arthurb said, if you have any questions, go ahead and ask.
