I was hoping someone could tell me how many ft.lbs. of torque I should tighten the castle nuts on the tie rod ends for my 2003 New Holland TC33DA. I have replaced the ball joints and tightened the nuts until I could insert the cotter pin through the bolt on the ball joint. However, it seems like I still have some play. I didn't want to over tighten the nuts and compress the grease cups too much.

Thanks,

Dale Tesson

The taper of the joint is what will keep you from bulging the grease rubbers. You can find a torque guide based on bolt size online. If anything, go a little lower since your threads will likely be "greased."

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give that a try.
