Afternoon everyone!!

I'm looking for the Ansung 860 / Branson BH86 backhoe spool nut/bolt torque specification.

I was just ready to tear my factory spool assembly apart to install another spool for a hydraulic thumb when I realized I didn't have the torque spec to put it back together!!

If anyone knows - please share!!! :)

Much appreciated!

Thanks!!

Just a little bit before it breaks. :D

Jokes aside, that's probably a info that only the valve manufacturer may know. If you happen to know the manufacturer of the valve, you can try and find some literature on that.

If you can't find anything, you can always get it tight with a small 1/4" ratchet, which will kind limit how much torque you put on. If you notice any leakage between sections over time, try to get it a big tighter.

Another spool? Now I’m VERY interested! Mind if you can share your progress? I’d like to do that for my BH760. Where did you get your parts from?

Aquamoose -
The original post is here: https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/build-yourself/125912-custom-hydraulic-backhoe-thumb-23.html

I have since had to source the spool elsewhere so here are my items so far:

I'm only putting in one relief valve and setting it for about 2500psi. The bucket on mine has a relieve pressure of about 3000psi so I didn't feel like I needed two...you may feel different.

The mechanical thumb is Branson's own.... I don't have the P/N right off hand I'll have to look for it. but it was something like THUM.....

The rest of the hoses and fittings will get done in the next few weeks....I'm in the middle of putting up another fence section right now....

I'll post when it's done...may be a few week or a month...really got behind here and the summer is fading fast!!

Forgot to add:

You have to trim the sheet metal cover a bit to accommodate the wider valve stack and drill new mounting holes 3/4" wider on each side of existing holes. You also have to get 1 1/2" longer bolts to hold the stack together because of the valve you add in the middle being ~ 1 1/2" thick.

Phenomenal! Thanks! I do have the factory thumb and did find a cylinder that fits perfectly. Just a matter of doing the rest. Really glad to get some info from you, it’s greatly appreciated!
