Torque

Wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

At ~18 hours, I finally got around to checking torque for the wheel bolts and various fasteners on the FEL.

The bolts for the front wheels all required ~1/4-1/2 turn to get to spec, and nearly all of the 10 nuts on the FEL were basically finger tight.

Has anyone else found loose fasteners? Is this a normal part of break in? I suspect it is, but they were significantly looser than I expected.

It's not part of the "wear", but your tractor and loader manuals do caution the owner to check the hardware for tightness frequently.

Now "finger tight"...that's not right. Sounds like the set up at the dealer didn't do a good job. I'd contact your dealer on this, even if you have torqued them to spec.

Maybe finger tight was not the best term; however, the weight of the torque wrench alone was enough to turn the nuts.

I'll check them again in 5-10 hours; the FEL has had some pretty heavy use thus far.

I had this happen after putting on a new loader on a used tractor. Noticed one of the bolts missing. Checked and found some loose. Tightened up and didn't have issue again. Manual did state to check agree initial use.
