Been having nice weather so decided to dig some stones out of my yard before it snows.Theres quite a few stones that I've been hitting with the lawn mower over the years and decided it was time to try and get rid of them.Wow to my surprise there pretty big so far to date have taken out 50 of them and probably a dozen or so this size.Used up a couple of loads of dirt that I had hauled up from out back aprrox 6yards to a load.Anyway had made this contraption for my other tractor but it was 2 wheel drive and not as big so it wouldn't handle these stones. This works pretty good just get under the stone with the teeth and curl back the bucket of course the bucket is on the ground and in float postion so your not using the laoder arms and putting stress onto the front axle.Once there out its a matter of just pushing them off into the bush or I've also been using a set of forks on the 3 pth to pick them up and carry them off into the bush out of the way.Next summer cutting the grass should be a lot easier not having to be on the look out for those stones.I know I seem to know where they all are but on occasion I miss judge where they are and bang bang bang with the mower, kinda hard on the blades.Had to stop digging them as we've been having -10c at nights and the ground has become to hard now but will get more tractor seat time soon as we have had a bit of snow last night with more surely to follow. As always Larry.

Huge rock, that loader has good power.

Good job! Another way to skid those "too big to pick up" rocks is to use a set of tire chains to wrap around the rock and then hook a drag chain to that. The tire chains grab the rock better and don't slide off like it would if using a single chain.

GEE I like that idea never thought of using tite chains for that just thinking about that make s me realize thats a good idea as there's lots of surface to grab hold of the stones. Thanks for this one. Larry.

Your right its the gc2300 and the forks are 1 1/4 square shafting ,the bends where in them before hand as they hand been bought at a Auction sale win a pile of steel,The part that I welded them to is a 3"x1 1/2" by 1/4" tubing that I just bolt through the bucket as well as some side plates bolted to the side of the bucket to help take up some of the twisting stresses so far its working better them I imagemined it would.Larry

I was wondering if you would post some close up pictures of those teeth/forks. I want to make something similar to carry some logs on.

Ditto - those look interesting and functional. How long are the forks?

Thanks!

went out to the shed to get the length of the teeth for you it's kinda cool out there this morning:eek: -19 c approx I think thats the same as 0 on the farenheigth scale so here it is = 23" total length by 1 1/4" shafting so hopefully this other picture at the same stone will give you a better idea of how I mounted them. Its to cold to drag them out of the storage spot so hopefully this picture will be what your wanting As always Larry:D
