This week I cleared two acres for a hunting club. It was very dense with a mix of Autumn Olive, Multi Flora Rose, Cherry, Apple and various vines.

It took more then a day per acre to get to this.

Lost some teeth and popped out a headlight and passed the 300 hour mark.

Looks like you did a good job to me.

You've popped out a headlight, but how's the rest of your machine fared w/o any of the forrestry protection at all?

That brush looked very thick, you didn't damage your A/C unit on top of the cab or the engine compartment hood?

Did you loose the carbide teeth to rocks? Will striking a rock the size of the one in the fourth picture damage the teeth?

Dude,
That is incredible. 16 hours of machine work at ???? per hour. You could make a fortune in areas where people are trying to keep their views. Here in the lakes region of New Hampshire, there are tons of people paying crews to come in and chip sapplings only to turn around and have them do it again 7 or 8 years later.

The rest of the machine is good. The tracks are starting to show some wear and are missing a few chunks, broke the mount for the quick attach hoses today, a few other small things need some attention. I still blow out the radiator and engine area at least 3 times during the day, including the air filter. I am still looking in to getting a welder to make forestry gaurds, just don't have the time right now. I broke 6 teeth at this job, that one rock you can see is small compared to the ones I found (the hard way) covered with leaves/vines. I took it slower on the second day and avoided the areas with more rock.

Nice, better than doing it the old fashion way. :)

Looks like fun. You seem to leave the same three trees. What happens to all the roots? If someone expected to cultivate the ground, it might be better to dig out (uproot) all the trees before grinding.

I'm impressed. That looks good. I spend my life doing dirt work which has to be a lot less brutal than that type of work. The next time I think about complaining, I'll think about what you're doing....;)
