How heavy a trailer do you guys think it would be safe to tow with a ck30 hydro.I have a 3.5ton [3500kg] gross weight dump trailer ,i plan to use the tractor/trailer combo on fairly flat hard ground.Do you guys think this trailer with a full load is to heavy for my tractor ? don't forget the trailer fully loaded will go 3.5 ton. Thanks for any replies.

How high is the deck off the ground? Dump trailers I know are quite high so that would a concern. Your well within the weight limit of the trailer

The deck is about 2' from the ground

I wouldn't worry a bit about pulling the trailer, but I'd sure think long and hard about stopping it. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hi Bird ,don't you think the breaks on the ck30 are good enough to stop a 3.5ton trailer??

I don't know, Lee; might depend on how fast you were going, how quick you needed to stop, uphill or downhill, pavement, dirt, or gravel, straight line or curve, percent of tongue weight, and a few little things like that. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif It might work just fine; just something to think about before you take off, 'cause it's a real sickening feeling to be unable to stop no matter what vehicle you're driving. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

If I remember right, the Kioti manual advises to tow no more than 3300 lbs. total weight with max 1100 lbs. tongue weight. You probably could go a little more and I'm sure Kioti is staying on the safe side but not to 3.5 tons or 7000 lbs. I'm sure the CK30 would tow it but as Bird advised, stopping might be a problem. You might be good on flat ground if you didn't have to stop fast and the hst won't give you as much advantage of engine breaking as a gear would. I have towed 4000 lbs with mine and found no problem even on a moderate hill but I don't think I would like to try 3000 lbs more. Just my take on how much brake I used to stop on the hill.

I completely misunderstood what you asking. You are towing the dump trailer with the CK30 and not the two with a vehicle. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

you are getting close to the CK30's capacity
