Found this at Lattimore Materials Co. in Melissa Texas. It is used to unload railroad cars. Though yall might find it neat.

Interesting. I guess all they had to do was put longer hydralic hoses on it to extend down to the drive motors in the tracks. Sure seems like either ane expensive way to do it, or a cleaver way to get it done. I'm not sure which?

That looks a lot safer to me than getting an ordinary backhoe up on the railroad cars to unload them, as I've seen them do in Waco, TX.

I watched a backhoe riding on top of open cars, unload railroad ties ,while the train was moving. The wild part was when he moved from an empty car to next loaded one , and the train still moving.

The one I watched was unloading gravel from open railroad cars into big dump trucks that pulled up alongside the tracks. And yes, I was really surprised watching him move from one car to another, but at least the train wasn't moving.
