Hi all,

Finally got around to taking pictures of my baby. Got it in December, about the time it quit snowing here in Indiana. Did get to use it for one snow and the cab heat is nice.

Cool! The work I have been doing over the last week makes me want an RC30 Track Loader more and more. I'm sure you are liking this one!

Sweet machine!
Nice to see another Gehl on the board. I have a 362 mini Ex and love it.

Thanks all, for the compliments.

Actually it looked better before I broke the auxillary hydraulic line and showered the left side with hydraulic fluid. The Bobcat hoses were just long enough to reach the loader in the normal blade position. Thought I'd clear the snow and change them later. Forgot about it and later dumped the blade down too far. Two service truck visits and $270 later, its fine. Bobcat, where I bought the blade, replaced the hoses no charge.

John,
That puppy should move some snow!! Too bad you missed out this year. I think that heated cab will be great for plowing, especially with that long driveway. Does it have AC too? I figure it must since that cab would be a cooker in the summer without it. Did you get a bucket too?

What other chores (besides snow removal) do you plan for it?

Enjoy the addition to your fleet. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Larry,

It came with a bucket and no air. The first order of business this spring is to remove the door. The windows slide down as well.

Had some money burning a hole in my pocket last fall so I ordered a New Holland TN utility tractor- probably similiar to your M6800. Decided to cancel when he found out it was 3 months for delivery and I rationalized the loader based on less overlap with my present tractor.

I do some excavation for Habitat for Humanity and a tractor is too cumbersome on those small lots. Also I've got a narrow driveway and creekbed that when you need to be perpendicular, there just isn't room with a conventional tractor. Also twelve acres of regrowth that needs to be selectively thinned. I'd like to make a tree shear but may buy it instead. Then there is trimming around all those trees worth saving and it takes forever with the tractor. With the loader you can essentially move the mower sideways in addition to forward and reverse. Even though it has low compaction, it scuffs up the sod when you turn sharp so we'll see how well the grass recovers from that.

John,
That should work out pretty well for you. Sounds like a better fit for you than the NH-TN since you already have a conventional tractor. The skidsteers sure are more maneuverable in the tight spaces.

It will be nice to have for the Habitat for Humanity jobs. I'm hoping that one day I will have some time available to get involved in that. I put myself through college working as a carpenter and property maintainance man and wouldn't mind bending a few nails for a good cause.

The tree shear sounds like an interesting project. There were a lot of BIG tree shears around where I grew up in northern MN. Logging was pretty big business there. It would definitely be useful for selective cutting since you can take it out vertically and choose where to lay it rather than felling through the rest of the stand.

Have fun with the new toy and post some action pics in the Projects section. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Looks like a tank.
One question.
Due to the short track length, do you feel the machine rock front to back, feeling like it wants to tip into its front or rear. I test a Takeuchi TL150 and a ASV RC 100.
The Takechi was NO comparision to the ASV. Much smoother ride, more productive, great track life, high flow (brush cutting, snow blowing) unbelievable manueverabilty. Better preformance, HANDS DOWN

Here is a real track loader. 8 inch longer track, more wheel contact points, less ground pressure, high flow (40 gpm), undercarriage suspension (really smooth ride, increases productivity) track life over 2000 hrs,
THIS IS MY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
