I am looking for a used compact tractor. I will be using it to maintain seven little league baseball fields. It will have to be able to handle a tiller, scraper blade, core aeorator, mid deck mower (60"). From what I have seen on the net so far, it looks like I will be getting a 2 or 3 cylinder diesel, with pto and three point hitch, and deck mower. The tractor must weigh less than 1,900 lbs. so I can use my current trailer. Any recommendations on manufacturer or model. I expect the tractor to be around ten years old or so, to keep the price down around 5 grand. This is being paid for out of my pocket so I have to keep the price down, my wife said the dogs will be eating better than me if I spend any more money. Will be buying around the end of June so I need help now.

The gutsy little Kubota B-7100 has been made for a number of years and MAY be found in the used market for that price. It weighs 1,257 lbs leaving some to spare for attachments.

Any team players have a Kubota Dealer father?
Good Luck on your search/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Mutt's recommendation should fit the ticket. I had a B7100 with all the equipment you had listed and it handled them well.

I agree with the other advice already given, the B7100 would probably suit you well. Right weight, and possibly within budget depending on age. A good friend has had a B7100 for about 6 years, and it's quite the little workhorse.

What part of the country are you in?

Hi Glueguy, thanks for the reply. I live just south of Baltimore, Maryland. I appreciate your recommendation, I will be looking for one locally. Unfortunately for me the supply of tractors in this area is very limited. But I will keep looking.
Thanks again.

Hi Mutt thanks for the reply. Your recommendation is right on the mark. I researched that model on the net and found it would be perfect for my needs. Great idea about asking the parents of our players if they have any contacts in that area. I will put up a flier at our concession stand tomorrow.
Thanks
Joe
