The local antique car show invited me back again this month. So I'll be down there tomorrow with another tractor before I go to work.

SOUNDGUY: are you going to post a pic. of the tractor you are taking? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Does that mean you have a MM UDLX!!?

I've always thought that machine could sneak into either a car or tractor parade and neither would seem out of place! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Mostly designed for creature comforts ahead of its time, but wasn't it once advertised as "the tractor you could plow with all day then drive to town that night"?

To those not as interested in vintage, I thought a picture (or link as the case may be) may be worthwhile:

UDLX in Museum

Wouldn't mind having one, but [assuming you ever do find one for sale] waaaay out of range of my measly checkbook.

I took my Allis-G. No award.. but the local tv station was out filming, and got a few shots of my tractor. i chatted with the camera man for a few.

I'm going to try to get a copy of the tape after it airs monday.

I had a friend take a pic of me by my tractor. As soon as I get a copy of it I'll post it.

Seems like I read in one of my magazines that a UDLX sold last year at auction in excess of $100,000.

I followed the link.

WOW , the UDLX is way cool! How many of these are still out there? (I found one reference that said there were only 150 ever made.)

Definately at least a generation ahead of it's time. When did main stream tractors start getting radios, A/C, etc.?

Soundguy, I think I inadvertantly hijacked your thread /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ....at least until you get the pictures back [that would have been really cool if you'd been holding a prize from a car catagory too!] /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yep, the UDLX is one neat machine. I think I heard several years ago there were at least 2 dozen and maybe several dozen still in existance. Of the 150, I believe 125 had a cab while the other 25 were an open style; so say about 1/3; the open style I don't think fared as well.

Not at all surprised if they're selling well over $100K; my mind may be playing tricks, but I think I read about one [again several years ago] that went for around $50K and not even in great condition.

Had to see if there was a tally on the web; didn't find that but here's an even better web-site for pictures:
Hemmings

I don't quite agree with the title though; I'd say it was successful, just way too early for anyone to pay the extra $$$ (almost double many tractors) for operator comforts.
