L48 kubota
Hello, We have a Kubota L48 - 2006 year - with 230 hours on it. Recently it has began to show an increase in temp. on the gauge when the gannon is pulling a full load. We flushed out the cooling system but that didn't do the trick. We are stumped as to what may be causing this temp increase. If anyone has an idea of what to check next it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any assistance. Respectfully, Tom

Have you checked the screen in front of the radiator to see if it is plugged?
Also check the radiator itself to see if the fins are blocked with debris.

As was stated check screen and rad for blocked air flow also make sure fan belt is tight and is it gradual temp increase or all at once could be thermostat if it happens quickly

Thank you for your ideas on our overheating problem. We checked the stuff you mentioned and everything looks good. Last week we called the Kubota dealer in Ontario, Ca and they said to check the possibility of a hydraulic line/valve that is stuck and thus creating a constant load on the pump and engine. We're not quite sure where or how to check that issue but later today we're going to start and see just we can find. Thank you again for your help. Tom

typically, if a hydraulic valve is held open, then you can hear it "hissing" ... at least, that's how it is with my tractor. I'd run hydraulics in all directions and listen...sound should change and go away when valve is in a neutral position. If not, then I'd suspect a stuck valve.

How high is the temperature increase?? Is it actually over heating?? It is normal for my temperature to increase when it is hot outside, and even more so when under load/high RPM's, although it does not overheat.

How much does temp gauge increase? It should increase a bit when you pull a heavy load.

Hey to ya Tommyjoe, I'm experiencing a hydraulic problem on my 2008 L48 as we speak. It is possibly the hydraulic pump (most likely) but they have me doing a couple of other things first before I change the pump. I have to throttle up a little to raise my FEL or 3 pt. after the transmission fluid warms up and when I'm bush hogging the engine temp. rises almost to the red. This started at 800 hrs. My question is the tractor and hydraulics operating normally or have u noticed something just starting that is out of the ordinary?
