HI I'M NEW TO POSTING ,BUT HAVE BEEN READING THIS FORM FOR A LONG TIME. IT HELPED ME BUY MY TC40D ON 4/2001.
AFTER OUR XMAS SNOW STORM OF 30",AND THE COLD WEATHER THAT HAS FOLLOWED,I HAVE DECIDED TO EITHER BUY A CAB OR BUILD ONE.

NEED INFO ON CURTIS CAB (HARD STYLE ) ON A NH TC40D, IF YOU HAVE ONE HOW DO YOU LIKE IT ?IS IT USED YEAR ROUND ? HOW IS THE FIT AND FINISH ? HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD IT, AND AS IT AGES IS THE FIT GETTING LOOSER (RATTLES ETC. ) ?WHAT OPTIONS DID YOU GET?

THANKS

Bill, there's certainly nothing "wrong" with your message and the way you posted it, but for some folks (especially maybe us older folks who's eyes aren't as good as they used to be), it's easier, quicker reading if you wouldn't use all caps./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for your question; don't know anything about the Curtis cabs except having seen some pictures and they looked pretty good.

Bill,

I have a TN series with a cab.

I find the cab is nice for rain, snow, cold etc...
But for me the main reason was mowing 30-40 acers of gaint ragweed /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. The ocassional wasp nest is also a good time for a cab.
Rarely use the heater, but then again it does not get that cold in my area.

Keep in mind that if you have a cab tractor you need the AC in the summer time. Its not a luxury since all that glass and the hot august sun will make the inside of the cab an oven.
You can open the doors and back window, but then why buy a cab.
The reason I bring up the AC is it consumes some portion of the HP (~5 hp) so if the tractor is marginal for the task the cab may make it worse.
Also the cab adds hieght. It won't fit in a regular door way.
But if you have a 9' door it will work.

i have a curtis soft side cab for my kubota...and i love it. my dealer talked me out of the hard side because our winters ar not that bad and you dont get that much more warmth from it. at some point in the near future i will fill in some holes on the tractor to help warm up the cab more. this has nothing do with the cab itself. i have only had it for a year but i leave it on all the time....the doors and back come off with ease and the winshield has a pivot opening. i also have a fan and a heater in there to keep things as comfortable as possible.

Saw this at a local NH dealer but they were closed, so I cannot give you a price or the make of the cab. I thought the cab looked good on the tractor even tho it was blue! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

That does look good, probably fits that fine blue machine like a glove/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

This looks like a nice setup. How much trouble would it be to take off and put back on?
Maybe take it off during summer and put back on for winter.

Still need a larger door since you can't fold the ropes down.
