Kioti DK55 w/loader...After sitting for a day or two, it will crank but sputters and goes dead. It will re-crank & sputter some more - and eventually run fine, once cranked. If cranked again same day, no problems. Seems to be worse with time. It started the day after I WD-40'd the throttle cable under the hood. I don't think that had anything to do with it, but some extra info. Sounds like it is not getting fuel somehow - but does fine once it's running. I haven't noticed a leak anywhere. Seems like it's maybe leaking down somewhere over time?

Anybody with any ideas, please let me know...Thank you...

Sounds like you're pulling air into the fuel line. I'd go over all fittings from injectors to fuel tank and make sure they're tight. Possibly the WD-40 softened a rubber fuel line and it's pulling a bit of air in it.

Good luck.

Also if you have any rubber fuel lines on it, you may have a line collapsing on it. Might be worth replacing those. cheap way to find out. zman

Sounds like air in fuel line.Maybe something got bumped.Tighten everything.Do you have bleeders like my Kubota it might be open a hair.On the kubota you just open it for about 30 secs to bleed it.Good Luck

G'day one of two thing's i reckon 1 you have got a leak somewhere maybe a line loose as mentioned earlier or poss a filter seal tighten all joins and check filter for tightness, 2 you may have a problem with the prime pump the vaves may be leaking slightly and creating a lack of head pressure to the injector pump try bleeding the fuel system after it has sat for a few days and seeing if you have got any air in the system. Good luck with it all

Thank you all for the replies. I've been out of town for a few days and away from web access. I'll check tonight & see if anything obvious stands out. Good thoughts...

I deal with this type of problem all the time on diesel engines in trucks, the quickest way to determine if you have air in the line is to install clear hoses on each side of the fuel filter or primer pump. This will allow you to see where the air is generating from, if its before the primer then your problem is from there back, after the primer you have a problem with the primer or bleed screw. I supose on your application there could be other places for air to be entering but you get the idea. We use clear lines bought at home depot and they have barbs there alos to secure the lines together. I would just keep moving them around until you found the sorce of the air, keep in mind you will have to bleed the air everytime the system is open.
I develped this for the durimax engines we see in our shop and it has been very useful and very quick
