Okay, for what I want, I'm going to be spending around $25k when it's all said and done. Here's what the financing looks like:

Kubota - 0 down 5.99% for 84 months + insurance = $365.09+$20 insurance = $385.09 monthly (total interest $5668)

Deere - 10% down 7.49% for 84 months = $345 + $20 insurance = $365 monthly (total interest $6480)

If my numbers are right, Kubota sure is making it easier than Deere. Problem is this: My wallet and mind want orange, but my heart wants green.

Does anyone know if Deere dealers can make the financing more friendly?

I think it's the 84 months that's the issue. You might want to do the calculation based on the 0% for 36 months that Deere offers and see if that doesn't save you about 6 grand. The payments would be a good bit more though. It's tough seeing all that money go out the door as interest.

In any case, the financing depends on the tractor, so we would need to know which tractor you are looking at.

You might also try talking to your dealer and telling what Kubota is willing to do for you. Can't hurt.

I'd look hard at the 0% for 36 as well, if finances allow just put more in on the front end to hit the payment you want.

In the end I'm glad I chose green if only to keep a few more dollars in the US economy... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Numbers aside, I can't imagine a more friendly finance company than Deere to deal with. They have been the best to work with from my vantage point. O am not suggesting Kubota is any different, though.

Okay, found out a catch today.

If you are Ag exempt i.e. "pay no tax in TX" you can only finance a Kubota for 60 months at 4.99%.

Deere is 5.49% at 60 months right now.

Still have to come up with $2500 down for Deere, though.

Decisions, decisions.

Anyone know what the Deere equivalent to a Kubota Grand L 4330 is?

Seems like a 4120 or a 4320?

basicly everyone is financed by Kubota as a consumer. Even businesses, farmers, etc. Its an oddity in the way that they do their paperwork that makes it a pain for the dealer to do it any other way. Basicly you end up doing the financing twice, once as a consumer, and the second time as whatever business entity. There is no reason that you can't use the consumer financing terms, there is no benifit to doing it as a business. Its been this way for years, but it due to finally get fixed within the next few weeks.

When they get it fixed, please let me know. My local dealer (Lanford Equipment in Marble Falls, TX) told me that I could not use my ag exemption and finance (consumer use) for 84 months. He said that if the tractor was for ag use all he could do was 60 months.

Obviously, it wouldn't make sense for me to pay an extra 8.25% sales tax just to get a longer finance term.

Thanks for the info and help. Can you sell to TX?

Thats their decision, its not enforced by Kubota. There are many hobby farmers and non-profit's that are tax exempt but still are rightly financed as consumers. Sorry, can't sell to Texas.

Don't wish to hijack a thread here, but I have had Customers' with top notch Credit not having to put the 10% down (Deere Credit)-

Either. The entire Deere 4000TWENTY series is the 'same' machine. The only differnce is in the fuel injection system. Look at the specs at them, and the only difference is the power, they have the same displacement, and are all turbocharged.

So a 4120 is really loafing.
