I have a 7100 Kubota that i had holding down a temp, but the wind was so strong it flipped it on its side. Is there anything I should do before trying to start it again? Oil levels are ok, battery is fine, but just wondering if I have to check something else out?

Any help is appreciated! Don't want to start it and cause more damage for not asking first!

Thanks

How long was it on it's side before you got it upright again. If not too long, then likely you can just let it set for a few days to let any oil that seeped past the rings to drop back into the oil pan. Try to turn the engine over by hand to see if it is hydro-locked. If it turns a couple revolutions without any problems then likely there is nothing wrong and can be started up without doing anything else.

I agree with Gary, try and rotate the engine by hand by placing a socket on the crankshaft nut. If the engine will not rotate, remove the flow plugs and spin again by hand. If the engine will spin over manually use the starter then to blow the oil out the glow plug holes.

I laid a Kubota L3400 on its side and it laid there for several hours before I could get the tools needed to get it back on its tires. I let it sit for 30 minutes to allow the fluids to drain back to where they belong, then fired it up. Never had any trouble with it. I think if yours has sat for days you are fine.

Unfortunately, the tractor was on its side for a few days. With the wind so strong it was the only thing holding down the tempo from blowing across the fields and to houses. Good info about turning manually. Not much oil leaked on the outside so hopefully its still in tact. This tractor has worked hard and has never let me down!

Thanks

Just teasing, but I was wondering, did you pick your name before, or after this accident ? LOL
How are you planning on getting your tractor upright ?, or have you got it upright already ?

Just curious, what was it you had it holding down? It seems auto correct burned you twice, first time "temp" and the second time "tempo". Was it a tent? And if so, how darn big was this that it tipped your tractor?

I think it says on the box to "never tie your tractor to this tempo".:confused3:
Man, you must have some pretty heavy winds where you live.

Never hook your tractor to a shooting star!?:confused3:

LOL, I got the nick name Reckless when I was younger as I would usually try anything! As for what it was holding down it was a Tempo (canvas portable garage), which was 16' High, 35' long, and 14' wide. We had a windstorm right after the Buffalo dump of snow that had gust around 50mph/80kmh. with the side being pushed by the wind last minute decision to save it was to use the tractor. Figured with loader down and being fairly heavy it should hold....not. I have the tractor upright and in my garage as a neighbour came over with loader and help push it into my shop. Will be checking how it runs in a couple of days (busy getting sleds ready and doing trails. I live South East of Ottawa, Ontario.
