Tractor guide

I am a John Deere owner and very satisfied with my tractor; however, that doesn't mean that I don't admire Kubotas and Boomers (as well as the dozens of brands of larger tractors now defunct). As I read the posts on this net I am confused by all of the Kubota model numbers thrown around (BX something or other, etc.). I have the Kubota homepage on my "Favorites" list and that gives me access to current models, but what about the older models. Is there a book I could buy? a website that I could visit? I don't like feeling so ignorant when I read some of these postings.

Zimmerer Kubota & Equipment has a history of series introductions at their site...

The lists are out of date (1994 and 1995) but will get you up to the mid-90's. Haven't seen a more recent one.

Thank you for the advice. I knew about www.tractortips.com and have used it often. With my plain vanilla computer it takes so much time to load and pull up specs on a given model. www.tractorsmart.com is slow, too, but an interesting source for more detailed information. www.zimmererkubota.com is really helpful; I printed off the lists for the B, L and M series as a quick reference. I have a bunch of tractor books--many of them Classic Motorbooks Inc. titles such as John Deere Farm Tractors, Farmall Letter Series Tractors, The American Farm Tractor, etc. I wonder why there isn't a comparable title for Kubota? Why don't one of you prepare one--you know, the history of the company, individual discussions of each of the series, listings of specs, glorious color photos that make you want to kill to own one, etc. Why don't you contact Classic Motorbooks and see if they are interested. Glad to be of help. I suspect that there are no 'Classic Kubota' books because they haven't been around in the US market long, compared to JD, Ford(NH), International (Farmall/Cub). You may of noticed that the oldest listing is the L200 F (1969), and a full product line wasn't available until '73. Maybe in another 30 years there will be Classic Kubota collectors, and a book, but for now most of those 73's are probably still being put to work rather than for show /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.
