The wife of a couple in our Sunday School class had a birthday anounced and the husband said, "Yep, Jean use to worry about dieing young, but not anymore."

Hope the fish are still jumping and the cotton is picked.

Thanks, Jerry, Norris, and Terry. Actually my birthday was way back on the 14th, but I left this stuff out in my office until yesterday when I brought it home to take some pictures and share with the folks on TBN. To make the birthday card, my graphic artist scoured the internet looking for tractor pictures to put into a collage. She told me she learned more about tractors than she ever thought was possible. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif The tractor stick-pins were made by one of our technical writers who bought the tractor outlines, painted them, and glued them to stick-pins. I told her I knew a website where I could probably sell a few dozen of those if she wanted to go into "business." She might have to buy some orange and blue paint though. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ...and BTW... don't run down to Jack-in-the-Box and ask for a tractor Jack. That one was given to me by a coworker from his collection of Jacks. Now that's a really special gift. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Well, Happy Birthday, Jim. I know you must have had a good one; pretty neat birthday gifts.

Oh, if she only knew! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Happy belated birthday, Jim! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I've noticed that everyone so far has been very polite and not asked how old you are.

Well..................

I won't either! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've reached the point that when I have a birthday and someone asks me how old I am, I reply...."Old enough to know better.......but not old enough to care!"

And now my birthday gift to you .........feel free to use that saying from this point forward anytime you wish! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Gary, I retired from the U.S. Navy in 1982 and I've been out longer than I was in. Still curious? Well, this one was 56. That's why I try to keep my birthday low-key, but my coworkers found out and surprised me. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks, Bird. BTW, how is Mrs. Senter? I hope and trust her day surgery was as expected. Give her my best wishes.

Jim, the surgery went well and the recovery is going very well. The only problem was that this was her first time for general anesthesia and she got nauseated and was vomiting even before she woke up, so Thursday was a bit rough for her. Now we're just waiting to hear the latest pathologist's report (hopefully about Tuesday, but maybe later) and see whether follow up radiation is going to done (surgeon thinks it will).

I think right now her biggest concern is whether we'll be able to go to West Virginia the last week of October for her Mother's 96th birthday. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bird, best wishes for your wife's continued and quick recovery. I hope you make that 96th birthday party. They are extremely rare, and the cake looks like a bon fire. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Bird,

Strange how these threads lead to different directions. Tractors, Birthdays, Treatments, Cures, Enjoyment, .....

I will be praying for you and your wife during her recovery.
My wife had surgery Feb 2002 and has completed 18 chemo treatments and at this time is doing great. We were the beneficary of many prayers during that time and even still today.

Good luck on getting to the birthday party. Have a safe trip to WV.

My mother will be 95 Oct 22.

From reading all your post on this site, I can tell you would be a great neighbor.

Sincerely, Norris

Yes, we have been, too.
