While using my bucket this weekend the tilt function on bucket stopped working. Today I looked into more and found that all viewable hoses and cylinders seemingly in good order. I'm think the valve that operates this part of tilting up and down must be the culprit. All other hydraulic functions are working as far as lift/lowering of bucket and 3 point hitch. I removed hoses to cylinders and get fluid from both which leads me back to the valve. if others have experienced this and can tell me what may the issue I sure would appreciate.

From your description, sounds like all was OK for a while, then suddenly the FEL stopped curling. I would suspect the following

Maybe a hose fitting shook slightly loose... I'd remove pressure on hydraulic hoses and then disconnect and reconnect the quick hose connects, particularly focusing on the tilt function hoses.

Am not completely familiar with the FEL control stick for your tractor. In my case, there is a joystick controlling it. At the base of the joystick is a control valve actuated by motion of the joystick. If the valves actuated by the joystick get stuck, then that function is frozen in place. I'd get into that control area.....in my case, there is a grease point there that is easy to miss in the instructions, but needs doing. Some have reported that water has gotten into this control, frozen and prevented proper actuation of the FEL.

Net is... if a hose is not completely inserted, hydraulic flow stops.
If a valve does not actuate for whatever reason, no hydraulic flow.
I assume that you are hearing the relief valve hiss when you seek to curl.
I also assume you have checked the pivot points to make sure they are free to move and that a rock has not jammed such the bucket will not curl until removed.

Good luck!

Thank you for the feedback. I agree your ideas on what to check. All items are checked and it must be a valve. The four lines that connect to the hydraulics for tilt and curl all have fluid flowing when either position is engaged. This tells me that the valve's allowing fueled in either direction. Not sure what else wit could possible. .?

Well Texasjohn, we did all that you said and even replaced the valve. The new valve did same thing but if you switch the two hoses and operate off the raise and lower rather than curl and drop of bucket those functions work. So doesn't appear to be rock or something hung. Techs think replacement valve bad as well. Something sounds like bad valve on these units. Thanks for all your suggestions.

Well, then, I gotta admit... I'm out of ideas...hope you figure it out... let us know when you do.

By chance is loader valve joystick controlled with cables? If so the cable could be your problem.

Yep, below the right side floorboard. I had it happen to me. Sure sounds like that could be the problem.

Even after disconnecting the entire valve and replacing with a new one I cant understand how a cable could make fluid come from both ports ??? Could cable casue that ? It would seem to me to have to be the valve but it seems strange that a new valve would have same issues ?

I watched however with the hoses off on the valve it self and when you raise the bucket up or curl it back the top two valves work fine. When you curl the upward it works fine. The problem is when you turn the bucket downward it flow from both valves. This would seem to be to have to be a defective valve. It the strangest thing i ever seen... I cant imagine how anything other than bad valve could cause this to happen.

Sure wish some one had this answer....
