Scrounger,
On my old Expedition you could turn off the load leveling suspension. If the Yukon has that feature you could turn it off while loading and use the check then turn it back on.
I use a similar method of what was posted above except I use my adjustable height roller supports (used for my miter saw and table saw to suppor wood). I adjust one so that it is level with the bumper. Then I step up on the bumper and see how far it goes down. That is my mark to eye when I load the BX. I way 215 pounds the BX is ~2000 with loader and accesories so that is 10% give or take. It has worked well in the past.
Just typing this I thought of another quick measurement way. You could take a 2x4 and add a base so it would stand up. Use a tape measure to mark 1" marks staring at the top and then use it as described to measure how far your bumper goes down and it's cheap!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Of course for you Scrounger this only works if you can turn off your auto leveling.
Nice thing about this method is it's quick and easy.
