Tractor
Kubota DT245
I have recently started looking for a new bigger tractor. I currently have a Kubota DT245, which is now too small for what I need. The little tractor has been a great tractor just doesnt have the size and strength to handle 1200 lbs round bales.

I have been looking at 40 hp tractors as I believe this would be the smallest tractor that would do what I need. As I need to stay in the compact size.

I have looked at them all. I like the Kioti and Mahindra as they are $2,000 -$3,000 cheaper than kubota or JD.

My concern is if I bought a Kioti or Mahindra is the company going to be around in the years to come and what about the resale factor?

All dealers are close

Any thoughts, suggestions, or recommendations would be welcomed.

My thought is that yes they will be around. I think that Mahindra is the largest tractor manufacturer in the 3rd world. At least in India. They also seem to be picking up sales and loyal customers here in the U.S. Kioti seems to be a very good machine for the price and seems to have a good folowing here in the U.S.

Have you check out McCormick tractor? They are very reasonable priced.

Kioti has been selling tractors in the USA since 1986 and their parent company has been making farm machinery for over 50 years. So it says on the Kiotitractor.com about us pages.

I don't think they are going to disappear anytime soon.

Cheers

That's a $64 question. I must say I'm prejudiced, but for 10% or less difference, why would someone roll the dice. I have Ford and Kubota tractors. I'm sure when it comes time to sell, you will make up more the the difference.

I have a Mahindra 5525 (55 hp engine, 45 hp pto) with the ML250 FEL (2980 lb lift capacity at the bucket pins to 10.5 ft full height).

No concerns here about Mahindra's corporate survivability.

So, you want to handle 1200 lb round bales. 40 hp sounds to me like a bare minimum for this job. A lot depends on how high you have to lift these bales for loading, unloading and transporting.

I would go with something like the Mahindra 4530 with the ML245 FEL.

I agree
One of the things that had me looking at Mahindra and Kioti was there superior lift capacities.
