Hello all:

I have a mf65 and a ford 8N that Iv'e been using for several years now. Up until now I've put up with the seat being too low for my 5"11" height; but no more. I need to raise the seats up but I don't know how. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can raise the seats up 3 to 4 inches.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unbolt seat, get section of 4x4 wood (fence post) drill holes through block, use long bolts to secure seat through block... IF not wood block, maybe piece of 4x4 square steel tube....

I bought a seat cushion for people in wheelchairs. It wasn't for more height, but for comfort, but it does give you a couple more inches of height.

I would use a block or several layers of a plastic. I use stuff they use in commercial truck floors that I found out is made from diapers! They call it diaper board. It won't rot, get hard with age or cold, machines and cuts well and takes wood screws nicely. I'm sure there are other good recycled products around.

If you go the wooden spacer route, take a minute beforehand and see if part of the comfort problem might also be the back-to-front angle of the seat bottom. If so, you could correct that with the wooden spacer too. My Kubota's was too flat and I always felt I was sliding forward in it. I put a tapered shim under it and it really helped by getting more leg support further forward.

Great idea. Thank you.

I have a hard time visualizing a seat being 3-4" too low for a 5'-11" operator, but you can perhaps buy on of those gardener pads to get the seat firmer and raise it up to see exactly how to adjust. https://www.amazon.com/Kneeling-Pad...ocphy=9023860&hvtargid=pla-350442720391&psc=1 81BfiUvMH3L._SL1143_.jpg

Mmm... If cost isn't a primary consideration?

Maybe consider switching to a suspension style seat.
It will greatly improve the ride quality AND raise the seat level up at the same time.
Some modification will be needed to the mounting points though

Don't over look reach to the pedals in raising the seat for any one who operates the tractor. Depending on how you are being affected it might be how far frontward the seat is rather than it's height.
