Tractor
Kubota B7800, B26 TLB
Had no step on the right side of my tractor. Finally got around to making one. Actually made one for each side as will replace the almost unusable one on the left side next. I modified the throttle lever to facilitate easier ingress/egress on the right side. Bracket is 1/4" material which I got lucky and got powder coated. The top piece is an old aluminum diamond tread deck plate off a Komori printing press which I cut in half to be able to do both sides.

Nice job on both tasks!!
I'm really surprised that big Kubota didn't have a step though.

Thanx! to Jay also. Most Kubotas are made to enter from the left side only, at least the two I own. Practicality dictates both sides for on/off, hence the mods. Still on the fence about modifying the FEL joystick on either tractor. When working in cold weather the extra clothing is usually what catches on the various handles and knobs. An unanticipated use for the wide steps is for an unauthorized passenger. Not much room on these Kubotas for riders as they pack a lot into a little bit of space.

Both of you did nice work on your respective steps.

I looked at Stonehaller's link, and I can see why he made the filter guard as those puppies are sitting ducks.

Tractors like horses should be mounted on the left side. Just like lawn mowers, the grass shoot is almost always on the right and you should never mount from the right. On most tractor all the controls are on the right and that makes it darn near impossible to get into positions without pulling hoses or levers.
I guess it was drilled into me when I was a about 10 and started mowing the yard. Dad saw me get on the lawn tractor from the right side. I ended up mowing for a little while standing up. Just my 2 cents.

I wish the step on mine looked as nice as that. One thing you might add is something to give you a sure grip when you have wet or muddy boots. I'd be afraid of stepping off onto that and losing my footing. Maybe a piece of expanded aluminum or ss on top of the step would help. It might be fine as is though. Just a thought.
