Does the Yanmar tractor use the same basic engine as the marine Yanmar, The marine GM series has a single 10hp a twin 20 hp and a three cylinder 30 horse power.
Of course the HP quoted is the just before going up in smoke power, my 1GM10 is rated 9 hp on the bench and 8 hp maximun sustained.
The reason for the question, there are a lot of Yanmar marine dealers that stock parts all over the country and might have parts that will fit the tractor engines.

I don't have an answer to your question but I do have two anecdotes. Last year I hunted from a sailboat that had the very same engine as my 165d. The owner had taken the boat from AK to HI twice and no more loyal Yanmar fan can be found. Also, I buy filters for my 165d from the local ship chandler, and that is very well since the nearest Yanmar tractor dealer is perhaps 900 miles by air and even the unhelpful Deere dealer is 90 miles by ferry and then 550 miles in my truck (in Fairbanks, AK).

You will find that Yanmar made engines for tractors, construction equipment, generators, pumps... All used the same basic engines with some differences. For example, the industrial 2 cyl Yanmar engines with the same bore and stroke as the tractor engines have a third main bearing between the connecting rods, where the tractor engines did not. For example, the 2T72 engine was used in the YM1110D, and rated at about 13hp. It has main bearings only at the ends of the crankshaft - none between the connecting rods. The 2T72HLE engine was used in stationary applications (generators, pumps, etc.) and has the same bore and stroke, but does have a main center crankshaft bearing (between the connecting rods). I assume this is because the engine was intended to be run continuously at heavy loads, and thus was designed to be more durable. It also may have produced more power by injecting more fuel, and been rated at a higher hp.

In any event, all of the parts for the two engines are the same except of course the block has the mounting for the center bearing, and the crank is turned and polished between the con-rods for the center main bearing. As far as I could tell, all of the other parts are common to the two engines.
