Tractor wheels won\'t move in cold.
Hi all,
Had a hard time searching out this problem. I've noticed when it's really freezing cold out that when I'm moving snow with the rear plow and try to back over it, that the tractor will at times just does nothing. I'll lift the plow and move ahead alittle. Then try to get enough momentum to run over the pile. As soon as the rear wheels hit the snow pile, I'll get a couple good jerks as the wheels will try to spin. Then she just gives up. This is a good hour into running. So she's all warmed up. But it's almost like a clutch is slipping or something isn't engaging. When I'm moving forward, if the plow gets enough snow to stop me in my tracks, I still have a front and rear wheel spinning. She may not be moving. But the wheels are going. Not in reverse though.... Any thoughts?
FYI-when I'm on the reverse side of the pedal I hear the hydro humming alittle like it's trying. But nothing like she screams going forward under resistance. Could it be that because the hard stop screw adjustment is set to go slow in reverse, that I'm not getting enough flow to the hydro to make the wheels spin???? I'd like to go faster in reverse anyway. This is while I'm in second. In first she'll spin like hell.
