Tractor won't start

Just curious, when you used it last was the pto engaged
I had a similar problem so I called the dealer and explained I was using the Rotary Mower and I turned the PTO off and the motor. Now it won’t start…. They told me sometimes the PTO Switch sticks (in the on position) and won’t let the tractor start. I checked it out and that’s what the issue was, problem solved.

The same happened to me when I flipped the PTO switch but it wasn't quite in the off position. I call the dealer and they had no idea. I found the problem myself.

This may have nothing to do with your problem, but my emax 25 had some electrical issues which came from the wire harness rubbing against the front 4wd driveshaft. Terrible design. Look along the inside of the left frame.

Welcome to TBN. You will find most here will do their best to offer useful information, reasonable discussion, or silly tired jokes.

Checking TractorData.com indicates your tractor is a minimum of 6 years old and may be as much as 8 or 9. If you haven't replaced the battery since the tractor was new, it may be at the end of its life. You didn't indicate a region you live which can be perinate information for those trying to help with a parts source or just to have an idea of weather conditions which may exacerbate starting problems and battery life. I don't know where you store it, but look for rodent nests and possible chewed wires plus all the other advise about tightening connections and testing,

Regarding your region, you don't need to be specific if you don't want to, but an area helps. For instance I could have put north central WA or Okanogan. or even just eastern WA and it would be enough.

I have a mahindra emax 25 and it wont start. I turned the key for warm up then when the glow plug indicator went out I turned the key the rest of the way for start. It went click and every thing went dead. I got out the test light and started checking. I have power to the starter, also to and from the ignition switch but nothing comes on not even the flashers. What could be my problem?
I have Mahindra Max 24 that had the same issue. After lots and lots of checking and testing it turned out to be dirt packed in & around a safety switch. Good luck

“....can be perinate information.....”
A perinate is a member of a viviparous species from approximately one month before birth to one month after it.

A clicking sound when attempting to start anything usually means that the starter is not receiving the required power to turn over. If so, it's either your battery or a safety mechanism preventing the system from turning over. For example, if you did leave the PTO on and it's attached to a shredder, trying to start the tractor is applying a huge burden to turnover not only the engine, but also the PTO and shredder. The safety mechanism is preventing this so you won't damage your starter.

There are a lot of good suggestions here, try them and post back.

Please check to see if your PTO is engaged it may have a safety sw on it w/ a broken contact j

This is where having a manual with a good schematic helps. If even the flashers don't work now I'd suspect you've lost your main ground from the battery. I've had an instance where I had a vehicle with fusiable links in the cables themselves, one burned out and that was it I was stuck until I could replace it. I'm assuming that you use your test light by grounding it on a convenient spot on the tractor and then touching the positive lead of the circuit you're checking. If so, this does nothing toward checking the grounding. Use an ohmmeter and check between the negative terminal and the chassis, you should have near zero ohms. Note: I'm assuming that your Mahindra is negative grounded, it may not be.

I am having issues with Mahindra Max 26 XL Starting. Checked all common safety switches and not that. Based on every thing I have been reading I feel its likely wiring/moisture issues. When I turn key to turn on glow plugs I get a different sound and some times nothing and no dash lights or power at all. Battery is brand new and took out all fuses and all good. Tried to restart and made weird sounds again with dash lights flickering. The third try it fired right up like normal. Second time this has happened in the past month. Has to be bad/loss wiring. Does any one have some some pictures of the common wiring trouble spots to check first before I just start tearing in to all the wiring? I do need to check my glow plug connection which I will do tomorrow. Thanks for any insight. I have learned a lot from reading various post on the topic already.
