Gentlemen, my thanks to all of you for your help during my journey to select a tractor. This was a lot harder than I had anticipated and I can't believe what a wealth of knowledge there is here. Your advice really helped in making my selection for a tractor to manage my 8 acre parcel. My original post is here: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-buying-pricing/104094-b3030-help-decision.html

I ended up choosing a B3030 with loader, 60" bush hog, and a 72" RFM - I really do love it. At first I thought it might be a bit too large but it doesn't really seem that big at all anymore. I've had it a month or so and it's helped do a lot of tasks - some expected like mowing, bush hogging, and loader work. Also some unexpected like pulling out my neighbours dock and pulling out another neighbours van from some freshly placed top soil ;).

I really struggled with purchasing this tractor in Canada given the significant price difference and I came very close to buying this tractor from the USA. In the end, I could have saved money by purchasing in the USA but when I considered that I'd have to purchase this outright versus 0% financing, plus I'd have to get it shipped up, plus I'd have no warranty... In addition, I know my local dealer and sometimes supporting the local economy means something.

I know how much you all love photos so here's a few shots of my machine. Thanks again guys!!

sure does look pretty sitting between that new house and the beautiful lake. good looking family and dog, too.:D congratulations on all!!

post if you have any overly excessive floor vibrations like one poster claimed (enough to make his feet numb, he said) he had on his 3030. the 3030 is definitely in the running for me. why did you choose it over the GL 3240, if i might ask. thanks.

I've had the tractor for about 6 weeks now and I've never had any issues with excessive vibration on the floor boards. I saw that post as well before I bought the 3030. My dealer dropped a 2630 for me to try first and then a 3030. I really couldn't tell a lot of difference between the two but I choose the 30HP machine because it had a few more ponies and I didn't want to run short as I have a fair bit of bush hogging to do and wanted to run a 60" unit. I looked at the Grand L series machines and they're quite a bit heavier than the B3030. This would have come in handy for some of the ground engaging work that I initially have to do, but the reality is that my primary use for this machine is to mow 4-5 acres of grass. In this case, the lighter the tractor the better. Also, in fairness, I contracted out the heavier ground engaging work to machines much larger than either of these tractors. The B3030 for me just seemed to fit right.

I've had my 3030 since mid July 2007. Since then, I've put 26.5 hours on it and have never experienced any floor vibrations. This tractor is flat out great!

Dedgett, what type of brush hog did you get? Any problems/issues with it? Does the 3030 have any problems running it?

Thanks......

SWMPBGY1, I have a Walco 60" rotary cutter... http://walcoequipment.com/rotarycutters.htm

I've used it to clean up about 3 acres of overgrown brush and small saplings. It worked very well and maintaining in the future will be much easier. The 3030 seems to run it very well and didn't seem to struggle much with it at all. Mind you, I was really taking my time cutting as I didn't know what I was going to encounter. I keep my bucket about 4 inches off the ground and just crept along. This way, it knocked down a lot of the brush before it hit it with the mower, and secondly it let me feel if there were any rocks that I shouldn't be trying to mow ;)

Thanks to all for the positive comments on our home.... we really enjoy living on the waterfront. The tractor has been amazing for helping to maintain this. I should have pulled the trigger on this deal long ago.

Great choice, 3 years into my B3030 HSDC and couldn't be more pleased! I fertilized a 25 acre site yesterday, it was a raw,damp,39 degrees out. That cab was toasty warm with tunes to boot! LOVE the 3030!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
