sounds like tractor tradin fever to me. best thing you can do is stay away from the dealer and put what you have to work for a while. My guess is you'll find it does what it's intended to do, you have a cut to do tractor work, use it.

I agree with Jim, use what you have if it will do the work.

You paid too much for it to start with, next time you should be better informed before you consider a new purchase. A decent deal is 15% off of the real list price for new 700 series models. Trade ins as others have indicated will cost you, selling the used equipment outright improves your bargaining position when shopping for a new machine with a dealer.

A real wake up call for dealing with any dealer is to ask them what they would sell your current ________(fill in the blank) for and then ask them what the trade in value would be. Figure 20% or more spread between the two.

I certainly would never begrudge a dealer a profit as they deserve to be paid for their time and capital investment just as I expect to be paid for mine. It's the specific amount of profit which is negotiable.....:thumbsup:

No one is doing themselves a favor to put their local dealership out of business. Some day you will need parts and service and driving an hour each way won't seem near as convenient, especially with gas at $4 per gallon now.

My friend who owns car dealerships swears that the internet has only changed the game for maybe 20 -25% of the buyers. He says the others still walk in and say something like "I can only afford $XXX per month. Can I get that model for that price?" Those people have made him a wealthy man........:laughing:.
