Tractor
Mahindra 2815 HST
Thinking about trading my tractor in for a newer model and wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what would be an acceptable price to accept for my 2006 2815 HST with 500+ hours.

Not sure what your tractor's worth, but I'd make my best deal with the dealer taking advantage of every incentive available. Then, after the deal's done, I'd then ask the dealer to give me a fair market price on your 2815, clean it up, add a few hundred bucks to his price and sell it myself.
That's just me.

What are you thinking about getting?

Started thinking about the 3616 HST model with a FEL and backhoe. I called my dealer asking about what a backhoe would cost me to add to the 2815 and just waiting on a call back. So now I'm trying to figure out what the cost might be and something I can afford. Finding a fair market price for a 2815 hasn't been easy at all, down right impossible.

Noticed this $8,000 for your tractor (2006 MAHINDRA 2815 HST Tractors - Less than 40 HP For Auction At TractorHouse.com)

I recently traded my old 68 hp JD on a new CUT. I first advertised the old tractor both digitally and among nearby farmers. Several offered over $5,000, one over $6,000 - but he was ultimately unable to get his financing. I ended up trading to the dealer for $6,000+. Everything depends on your market. Selling a CUT requires it be in really good shape because a lot of your market does not want to tackle repair. Larger tractor buyers would be more tolerant. In my case the JD - a 68 hp tractor with FEL) was in great shape, so the dealer outbid private because they didn't face any issues prepping it for resale.

I don't know about the market everywhere else, but here in Alabama the best way to sell a tractor is at auction. Find a local auctioneer that does estate sales and ask him to list your tractor. They will probably stick it in an upcoming real estate auction to boost bidder interest and not charge you any advertising because you are bringing more people in to the main event.
