B3030 - It's for SOLD!!!
Hello to all of you wonderful Kubota Owners!

I've been reading your posts for several months now and have decided to become a member. I'm ready to upgrade to a B3030. My current machine, a BX2230 has been a joy to own and operate. I've had it for sale for several months now and have had very poor response to the ads.

Was wondering what your past experiences have been with buying new equipment. Did you trade or sell? I must say, my 2230 looks better today than the day it was delivered......washed and waxed often, all maintenance performed by myself, garage kept etc. With the weather breaking here in North Central WV, I would've thought it would have sold by now.

Keep up the great posts! I've learned alot from you!

Where have you been advertising it?

I've been advertising in a local classified paper that reaches WV, MD and PA. I was wondering if my price may be a bit high.......$10,899 for a 2004 BX2230, 60" Kubota MMM, Woods FEL. The tractor has 167 hours and is as sharp as a tack.

In my area (West of Baltimore) Kubotas seem to be sold to neighbors, friends, or whomever, and hardly make it into the 'used tractor' market. I got my first Kubota when a neighbor told me about a friend that was selling his. And, when I to to the closest dealer he never has any used ones. Good luck with selling yours!

You might want to check prices on comparable new equipment in your area to see if your price is high. I just purchased a new BX2350 with 60"MMM, but no FEL, for $10,000.

Personally, it takes a significant price advantage for me to give up the real or perceived security of buying new.

Based upon my evaluation of used Deere prices, it takes about 5 years to make a sale worthwhile.

Newer used machines are too costly (direct competition to buying new).

Don't get me wrong...advertise as widely as possible. But you will have to be flexible on your price. If it's too high, you have to drop the price or hold on to the tractor for a while longer.

BTW, I traded my 1991 Deere 670 for a newer (still used) Deere 790. Since the dealer I traded to got pretty darn close to what I paid for the 670 (plus a 60" Befco 3PH mower) when I bought it, I probably should have sold.

If you're in a hurry for the B3030...I suggest you trade up.

Personally...I try not to take too big a hit when I make a trade...but I don't sweat it too much if I do. My wife does all the sweating for me (doesn't let me forget, either...)

Have you tried "Craigs List?" It will give you national advertizing free! Some here, have had great success.

Hi swmpbgy1
I'm almost neighbors with you. I'm thinking about selling my BX23 but the economy in our area is really bad so I figure if I take a 25 to 30 percent loss off what I paid I'll be lucky. Kubota will finance lots cheaper on a new one then a bank will on our 2 year old tractors. Good luck!

I just purchased new. Done deal. The thing I see at the implement auctions here is that by human nature, most buyers want something for nothing, and most sellers want to recoup their investment. I am no different.

Flea-bay will move it if someone has a nitch for your machine. Buyer pays for delivery or pickup, however I do not endorse Flea-bay in any manner. I don't use it for reserved reasons.

"New" insured me of a warranty, allowed me a secure baseline of what I was buying, and being the person that I am, I dickered and got what I thought was a decent deal, all being said and done. The one thing I just told my friend (who is thinking on a new machine) is that they are not getting any cheaper. It's costs a man $$ to prolong the inevitable. Life is short. Enjoy. :)

The B7800 has met all of my expectations so far.

If you're going to buy new, definitely take advantage of Kubota's financing program. They are in the business (for now) to build their market base. Their financing is attractive for this purpose.
